Paul B. Meeker

Paul B. Meeker, 98, of Manito, passed away at Autumn Accolade, near Green Valley, at 12:54 p.m., on Monday, May 10. He was born August 6, 1922, in rural Manito, to Samuel E. and Edith (Whitaker) Meeker. He married Donna Callaway, on January 11, 1952. She survives. Mr. Meeker is survived by his wife, Donna, of Manito; seven children: Linda (Tom) Knuppel, of Morton, Jan (Ron) Conklin, of Pekin, Carl Meeker of Manito, Ruth (Tom) Brooks, of Kilbourne, Ross (Cindy) Meeker, of Forest City, Roger (Cathy) Meeker of Pekin, and Cari Meeker of Manito; as well as sixteen grandchildren and thirty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Clyde, Loren and Lyle Meeker; daughter-in-law: Nancy Meeker; one grandson; and one great-grandson. Mr. Meeker was a lifelong farmer in the Manito and Forest City area. He served on the Mason County Farm Bureau for many years. He was also a member of Forest City Community Church, where he had served on the Church Council. He enjoyed attending sporting events and playing cards. He especially enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids. Graveside services will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, near Forest City, on Thursday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Frank Brozenac will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Forest City Community Church, or Autumn Accolade. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at www.hurleyfh.com.
