Karen L. Wegerer

Karen L. Wegerer, 77 of Burlington, IA, died at 10:17 a.m. Friday, April 16 at Danville Care Center. Born December 19, 1943 in Lewistown, she was the daughter of Clarence Noel & Dorothy (Burgess) Keeler. She married Duane Wegerer August 4, 1973 in Lewistown. Karen was a homemaker and did transcription and secretarial work for many years. She was a secretary at Notre Dame High School. She was also a great cook and liked to play the organ and cross-stich. She was a member of the Divine Mercy Parish and the Des Moines County Resurrection Choir. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Duane of Burlington; children, Erick (Jennifer) Wegerer of Vancouver, WA, Kimberly (Kevin) Klein of Danville, IA; grandchildren; Connor Wegerer, Adrienne Wegerer, Alex Wegerer and Kaleb Klein; two sisters, Eleanor Carter of Horseshoe Bay, TX, Ann (Dick) Sybert of Athens; one brother, Richard (Shirley) Keeler of Lewistown, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters. The funeral service for Karen will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 22 at Lunning Chapel. Very Reverend Father Marty Goetz will officiate. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 21. Cremation will be accorded following the service. Inurnment will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery at a later date.
