Audrey Maxine Davis
Audrey Maxine Davis, 92, of Havana, passed away at 2:50 a.m. on Tuesday, April 6 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on March 22, 1929 in Sheldon’s Grove, the daughter of Earl and Erma (Edwards) Rhoades and the 4th of 8 children. She married Merle Ivan Davis on November 24, 1947 in Mt. Sterling. Merle preceded Maxine in death on March 15, 2010. She is also preceded by her 3 brothers, Richard, Lester and Ray Rhoades, and 2 sisters, Virginia Bushell and Betty Harn. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Norma (and Steven) Knapp and Diann Pomeroy, 2 sons, Leslie (and Donna) Davis and Gary (and Lisa) Davis, 9 grandchildren, Chris Goin, Jennifer Seiders, Scott Davis, Sara Cook, Kevin Knapp, Megan Brewer, Caleb Pomeroy, Nathan Davis and Cory Pomeroy, 2 step-grandchildren, Jon Mummert and Kim Rogers, several great-grandchildren, brother, Bob Rhoades, sister, Joyce Wittlesey, and 2 sister-in-laws, Louise Ward and Judy Rhoades. Maxine was a homemaker and hard working farmers wife. She was one of the cooks at South Fulton Grade School and volunteered once a month at Lincoln Christian Nursing Home. She was a member of the Havana Church of Christ. Maxine enjoyed mowing her own yard, gardening and was a humble servant who was loved by all. Services will held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 10 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. Pastor Bill Boyce will be officiating. A visitation will take place onehour prior to the service. Interment will be in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorials may be made to the Havana Church of Christ.
