Frances Elizabeth Wiemer

Frances Elizabeth Wiemer, 100, of Mason City died Monday, November 23, 2020 at 2:30 p.m., at the Mason City Area Nursing Home. Born December, 27, 1919 near San Jose (Natrona), she was the daughter of Louis George Moehring and Emma Louise (Grube) Moehring. She married Eldon Charles Wiemer on April 15, 1944 at St. Luke’s Lutheran Church at Allen’s Grove near San Jose. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1971. She was the oldest of 11 siblings. Surviving are Louis Moehring, Jr. (Erma), Henry Moehring, and Alice Jean Diers Dirks. Preceding her in death are Hazel Imig, Esther Surface Leinweber, Florence Stivers, Elizabeth Fosnaugh, David Moehring, Raymon Moehring, and Donald Moehring. Survivors include her 5 children; Marlene McCreery, Marie Everitt (John), Anita Huse (Rick), Nadine Kreft (Mike), and Frederick Wiemer (Marla). Grandchildren are Linda Stout (Tim), Craig McCreery (Tami), Ryan Everitt (Lauren Kilian), Carrie McClelland (Tom), Emily Gaskins (Cameron), Adam Huse (Emily Stinoff), Megan Kreft, Morgan Kreft, Andrea Stadsholt (Jason), and Erika Eigenbrod (John) Great Grandchildren: Terah Powell (Jordan), Troy McCreery (Meghan), Hazel Everitt, Harper McClelland, Haley McClelland, Josephine McClelland, Isabelle Gaskins, Ava Gaskins, Addison Stadsholt, Ruby Stadsholt, Jackson Stadsholt, Kaleb Eigenbrod, Kodi Eigenbrod, and Kolt Eigenbrod. Great Great Grandchildren: Madelyn Powell, and Asher McCreery Frances raised her family on a dairy farm near San Jose. She loved creating flower gardens, made scrumptious coffee cake, and sewed almost all the dresses for her daughters. When the family left the farm, they moved to Easton. She became known for the pies and Thursday fried chicken dinners she made for the Easton Cafe. A prolific crafter, she made beautiful Santas, bears, bunnies, and many other decorative items. She took many trips including Germany and Hawaii. A much loved matriarch of the large Moehring family, she thoroughly loved visits with family and friends. Private family graveside services will be held at Allen’s Grove Cemetery at a later date. Mary Ann Andrews will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Mason City Area Nursing Home. Online memorial messages may be left for the family at Hurley Funeral Home in Mason City is in charge of arrangements.
