Carol Olive Waller

Carol Olive Waller, 84 of Table Grove went to be with her Lord and Savior at 11:50 a.m. on June 2 at Heartland Healthcare in Macomb. Carol was born December 28, 1935 to Joseph and Grace (Northrup) Thorman in Macomb. She graduated Salutatorian from Bardolph High School, graduated from WIU, and started her teaching career at Bardolph. She married the love of her life Max L. Waller on April 14, 1956. They were married 49 years. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2006. She was also preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers: Ray Thorman, Kenneth Thorman, and Henry Thorman and grandsons Jacob and Adam Stepanski. Left to celebrate her life are her children, David (Krista) Waller of Marietta, Ronald Waller of Macomb, and Janice (Daryl) Stepanski of Table Grove; Grandchildren Daniel (Lindsey) Waller of Marietta, Letitia (Danny) Kale of Summerville, SC, Brittany (Keith) Denk of Smithfield, Brock (Jenni) Waller of Marietta, and Ana Stepanski of Table Grove; Great-grandchildren Lucas and Amelia Waller, Bentley and Parker Kale, Cameron, Aiden and Addilyn Denk, Mackenzie and Madison Waller; Brothers Lloyd Thorman, Wayne (Helen) Thorman, Marvin (Alice) Thorman; sisters Betty Nelson and Wilma (Richard) Wilson. Carol was a lifelong member of Point Pleasant United Methodist Church in Marietta. Besides teaching, she worked for Western Illinois University. She decided to go back to school to obtain her master’s degree in Special Education, and finished her career of teaching as a Special Education Teacher in Havana School District, retiring in 1994 after 21 years of service. Carol loved to read, but what brought her the most joy was her family and time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Private services will be held in the Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery in Macomb with Pastor Amy Holman officiating. Memorial contributions can be made to Table Grove Fire Rescue or to the Point Pleasant United Methodist Church. A public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
