Danny Lee Nelson

Danny Lee Nelson, 66, of Pekin, passed away at 12:56 p.m. Sunday, April 12 at Timbercreek Rehab & Health Center in Pekin. He was formerly of Havana. He was born September 15, 1953 in Peoria to Edmund Lee and Betty Jane (Opp) Nelson. He was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are one daughter, Brittany (Jarrod Thompson) Long of Morton; one son, Shane (Johnita) Nelson of Indiana; two grandchildren, Bella Long and Samuel Nelson; one brother, Dave (Amy) Nelson of Petersburg; one niece; one nephew and several great nieces and great nephews and cousins. Danny had worked as an insurance agent for Nelson Insurance in Chandlerville for many years. He enjoyed playing cards, listening to music and being outdoors. He was a free spirit and loved all people. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services or visitation.
