Lyle D. Huber
Lyle D. Huber was born January 4, 1938 near Easton of Alvin and Bessie Williamson Huber. He passed at 4 a.m. in Memorial Hospital in Springfield on March 25. He is survived by three brothers: Leland (Ilse), Columbia, S.C., George (Nancy), Huntley, and Larry (Sandy), Huntley, and sister Marilyn Seacrist, Peoria, and sister-in-law Rosemary, Mason City and 21 nieces and nephews and many great-nieces and nephews. Lyle was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers Marvin (Bud), Robert (Bob), and Don. Lyle was educated at St. John’s Children’s School and Hospital in Riverton, Children’s School and Hospital in Chicago, and by tutors of Easton Community Schools. He graduated from Easton Community High School in 1960. He was afflicted with Cerebral Palsy at birth; but, that didn’t stop him from being an active participant in his Family, Church, and Community. He operated an Amway business for about 15 years, was active in the Easton Alumni Association, the Easton Optimist Club, Wheelchair Races, and Cerebral Palsy Telethons. In 2008 the Havana Chamber of Commerce named Lyle the 2007 Citizen of the Year. They called him “A Man on a Mission”. He has been an inspiration and an example of courage and determination to all he met! Private family services will be held at Easton Cemetery. A memorial service for Lyle’s friends and family will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Havana Optimist Club.
