Victor Magee
Victor Magee, 68, of Havana passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 2:45 p.m. He was born in Clinton, Indiana on July 20, 1951 to Donald and Glenna Magee. Victor is survived by his wife, Kara Magee. He is also survived by his mother, Glenna Magee of Bath; brother, Shelby (Mary Jo) Magee of Astoria and brother, Vince Magee of Bath. Victor was preceded in death by his father, Donald Magee. Vic completed basic training at the U.S. Naval Station in Great Lakes, IL in September of 1969. He was assigned to Aviation Electrician’s Mate “A” School at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, FL, where he graduated in April of 1970. He was then assigned to LTV A7 Corsair electrical systems “C” school at Naval Air Station Lemoore, CA, where he graduated in July of 1970. Vic held the rank of Petty Officer Third Class when he left active service in July of 1973. Vic was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, The Navy Good Conduct Medal, and both the Vietnam Service and the Vietnam Campaign Medals for his service on board the USS Oriskany as a member of Attack Squadron 153 in 1972 and 1973. He was a lifelong Lewistown VFW member. Victor loved animals, old country music, spending time with family and friends, Star Trek, building models and being a practical joker.
