Gordon Paul Reedy
Gordon Paul Reedy, 81, of Havana, passed away at OSF-St. Francis Medical Center, in Peoria, at 11:51 p.m. on Monday, March 25, 2019. He was born November 22, 1937, in Table Grove to Wayne Cecil and Florence Arlene (Workman) Reedy. He married Sandra Jo Logan in Macomb on June 7, 1969. Mr. Reedy is survived by one daughter: Teresa (Matt) Kline, of Havana; grandchildren: Anthony (Whitney) Kline of Havana and Amanda Kline of Havana; great-grandchildren: Aidan Kline and Emma Jane Kline and special friends Bryan and Terri Mapes. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Marvin, wife and one son, Lance Christopher Reedy. Mr. Reedy had attended Vermont Christian Church and was now a member of Havana Church of the Nazarene. He was a member of ISEA, Odd Fellows and Pets without Parents. He had previously been a member of Mensa. He had achieved the rank of 3rd Degree Mason. He served in the US Army from 1961 until 1963. He had worked as a Casework Supervisor and retired from the Fulton County Department of Public Aid. Gordon was a beloved Husband, Father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to many. He had an incredibly generous heart with a quick witty repartee and sharp curious mind. As a man of God, he shared his financial blessings countless times with people in need. His soft caring heart was apparent as he was inquiring about others on his death bed and truly felt the pain of others. He was a die hard Cardinal fan, who loved his family and life in general, always seeing the bright side of things. Funeral services will be held at Havana Church of the Nazarene on Saturday, March 30, at 4 p.m., with visitation two hours prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Harris Cemetery near Table Grove. Rev. Jim Buchanan and Rev. Sue Roat will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the building fund at the Havana Church of the Nazarene.
