Julie Middleton

Julie Middleton, 90, of East Peoria, passed away at 7:30 p.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at Generations at Riverview in East Peoria. Julie was born on November 2, 1928 in Quitman, AR, the daughter of Jeff and Ethel Cook Hughes. She married Harold Middleton on July 19, 1973 in Carthage. Survivors include her loving husband; daughters, JoAnn Whitehead of Carbondale, Sandy (Greg) Arnett of Canton; two grandsons, Chris and Jon Whitehead of Carbondale; great-granddaughter, Caylee Whitehead of Carbondale; sister, Ragene Stark of Heber Springs, AR; favorite cousin, Geraldine Burgess of Mabelvale, AR; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Lowell and Dallas Hughes; two sisters, Guyneth Holland, Adavene Ward; and son-in-law, George Whitehead. Julie worked at Caterpillar Tractor Company before retiring. She was of the Baptist faith. Cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Midwest Affiliate. Deiters Funeral Home and Crematory in Washington is in charge of arrangements.
