Marjorie Ann “Marge” Burgett
Marjorie Ann “Marge” Burgett, 92, of Havana, passed away at 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born December 27, 1925 in Havana to Wilbur “Red” and Margaret (Straub) Crompton. She married Howard “Pete” Burgett on July 6, 1946 in Havana. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2008. Mrs. Burgett is survived by two sons: Brad (significant other – Cindi Jonas) Burgett of East Peoria and Richard (Jen Norman) Burgett of Scottsdale, AZ; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving is niece, Jill Rush of Havana, as well as several other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters: Joey Jones and Jackie Bainter and one brother Robert “Tud” Crompton. Mrs. Burgett was a member of St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Havana. She was a waitress at Bee’s Restaurant in Havana for 25 years until it closed. She was an avid Havana High School Basketball fan. In 1994, she was elected to the Illinois High School Basketball Hall of Fame as a fan. Graveside services were held on Monday, November 26 at 11 a.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Fr.
