Peggy Lou Hertter

Peggy Lou Hertter, 72, of Havana, passed away at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Havana. She was born July 4, 1946 in Richmond, Missouri, to Vernon and Maybelle (Frazier) Welchel. She married Cecil A. Hertter on February 11, 1966 in Fairbanks, Alaska. He preceded her in death on January 26, 2017. Mrs. Hertter is survived by three children: Patricia (Keith) Wojtkiewicz, Rich (Casey) Hertter and Michael (Jennifer) Hertter, all of Havana, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four siblings: Vernon (Cindy) Welchel, Virginia (Darren) Welchel, Janice (Leon) David, Carole Ann Lewis and brother-in-law, Dean Griffee. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Bill and two sisters, Patty and Ella. Mrs. Hertter was a former member of Cuba Ladies Auxiliary Post #533 and St. David Optimist Club. She had previously worked at the Chester Center concession stand, Day and Palin Grocery Store and County Market. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, August 12 at the Havana Rural Fire Department at noon.
