Michael Knous Williams

Michael Knous Williams passed away peacefully June 22, 2018 at the age of 78. He was born Feb. 16, 1940, in Canton to the late Ronald and Claire (Knous) Williams. He is survived by his second wife, Judy (Kyle) Svancarek-Williams; two daughters, Denise (John “Tip”) Coffin and Melissa (Kenneth) Johnson; son Brian; five grandchildren, Sadie and Hannah Coffin, Kieran and Rhys Johnson and Piper Williams; and brother Neil (Jane) Williams. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Nancy ( Roemmich), and infant brother Richard. Mike attended Canton schools. He received his Bachelors Degree from Illinois State Normal University and his Master Degree from Governors State University. Mike was a Speech and Language Pathologist with Bloom Township High Schools in Chicago Heights for over 30 years, and a professor at Governors State University. He was recognized as a Fellow with Illinois Speech, Language, and Hearing Association. He was actively involved in the local classic car community. A memorial service will be held at Faith United Protestant Church of Park Forest July 7 at 2 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or to the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Foundation in his name.
