Harold V. Baker, 90, passed away March 9, 2018, at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center. He was born on July 3, 1927 in Mason County, Illinois, the son of Ernest and Ina (Sarff) Baker. He married Elizabeth “Betty” Schilling, at Havana, on December 12, 1947. She survives. Mr. Baker was a rural mail carrier and Postmaster at Kilbourne and Ashland, Illinois for 35 years. He owned and operated Baker Service. He was a WWII US Navy Veteran and later served in the US Navy Reserves for 19 years. He enjoyed serving his community on several elected and volunteer committees and boards. He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. Mr. Baker is survived by his wife, Elizabeth “Betty” Baker; three daughters: Bonnie (David – deceased) Friend, Janice (David) Sizemore, Rosalyn (Steven) Bone; son-in-law, Danny Nall; grandchildren: Anthony (Rosenna) and Rodney Friend, Jenny Nall, Julie (Mont) Davis, Robert, Ryan, Nathaniel and Kaitlyn Bone; four great-granddaughters: Isabelle, Angelique, Justine and Jasmine Friend; one sister, Catherine Minor and one brother, Harlan Baker. He was preceded in death by daughter Virginia Nall and brother Donald Baker. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5 until 7 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2018. Funeral services will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana at 10 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2018. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev.
