Catherine A. Lawrence

Catherine A. Lawrence, 77, of Havana, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2018. She was born February 14, 1940, in Bath, to Lester and Wilma (Baer) Fletcher. She married Donald F. Lawrence on July 3, 1958 at Snicarte. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2011. Mrs. Lawrence is survived by one daughter: Lori (Dan) Wright, of Havana; one son: Jeff (Stacy) Lawrence of Jacksonville, FL; three grandchildren: Noelle, Dustin and Sophia, as well as one sister: Bonnie (Jim) Dickey of Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and three brothers: Donald “Dub” Fletcher, Norman E. Fletcher and Lester Fletcher, Jr. Mrs. Lawrence was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Havana. She worked as a secretary at New Central School, in Havana, for 40 years, retiring in 2001. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, January 24, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 25, 2018, also at the funeral home. Rev. Daniel Swihart will officiate. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
