Kenneth Dean Sarff

Kenneth Dean Sarff, 72, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care at 3:55 a.m. on Sunday, October 22, 2017. He was born June 13, 1945, in Springfield, IL, to Arthur Wayne and Frances May (Dierker) Sarff. Mr. Sarff is survived by one sister: Mary Howerter of Havana; three brothers: Wayne (Grace) Sarff of Havana, Dennis (Mary) Sarff of Sunrise Beach, Missouri and Rick (Cindy) Sarff of Petersburg. He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant brother and brother-in-law, Ralph Howerter. Mr. Sarff was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. He was active in local car shows and enjoyed bowling, fishing and hunting. He retired from Caterpillar Inc. on April 30, 1998 after several years of service at Facility 41. Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside services will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana at a later date.
