Hal David Hodgson

Hal David Hodgson, of Oakford, Illinois, formerly of Kilbourne, passed away unexpectedly September 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital in Springfield. Hal was born in Jacksonville, Florida January 11, 1957 to Theora and Bridget (McCue) Hodgson. He graduated from Balyki High School, served 10 years in the United States Navy, and worked in various jobs, from Navy Radio Specialist, to Delivery Driver, to Antiques and Collectibles Dealer. The constants in his life were his love of family, his passion for arguing politics, his antiquing endeavors, and his dog, Luke. He leaves behind his father, Theora Francis Hodgson Sr.; six siblings, Mary (Fred) Belke, Theo (Kristy) Hodgson, Virginia Hodgson, Tom (Lynn) Hodgson, Terri (Randy) Shawgo, and Calvin (Joy) Hodgson; ten nieces and nephews and four great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother. He was deeply loved and his sweet, kind personality will be sorely missed by family and friends alike. Graveside services will be held at Kilbourne Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2017. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
