Milford Edison Sarff
Milford Edison Sarff, formerly of Kilbourne, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2017. Mif was born on November 11, 1928 in Chandlerville. He was the son of Edison and Leon Sarff. Mif married Bernadine Austin on April 23, 1950 in Cropsey. They have three sons, Mark (Jeanie), Eric (Julie) and Kirk (Amy). Mif has a brother Max (Beverly) and Aunt Vivian; 10 Grandchildren, Jayme, Brooke, Meghan, Matt, Jessica, Ben, Chris, Carly, Bailey and Delaney. Mif also has 7 great-grandchildren. Mif served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Masonic organization. Mif is a member of the IBCA Basketball Hall of Fame and a member of Havana united Methodist Church. Mif was a successful business owner of a Shell gas station. He provided bulk fuel and tire services for many local farmers. The service he provided was valued by all. Mif and Bernie never missed their sons’ games, track meets and any activity they were involved in through the years. Mif is known for many things… love for his family, his faith, being an avid Cub fan, who was able to experience a World Championship, the firm handshake, holding court most Friday mornings at coffee, relentless work ethic, integrity, always putting others first and his blue eyes (that every nurse at DMH went on and on about). Mif was a great mentor for his family and his legacy will last forever through his family and the generations to come. A memorial service will be held on September 24 at 1p.m. in the Victorian Woods Community room located at 3910 West Main Street, Decatur. In lieu of flowers, a donation in Mif’s name may be made to St. Judes. The family of Milford Sarff is being served by Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home, 2091 N. Oakland Ave. Decatur, IL.
