Jerald R. Richardson

Jerald R. “Jerry” Richardson, 85, of Havana, passed away at Havana Health Care at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, September 4, 2017. He was born July 7, 1932 in Kerton Township, Fulton County, Illinois, to Lafe and Edna (Stanley) Richardson. He married Eloise Bryant on May 12, 1956 in Palmyra, Missouri. Mr. Richardson is survived by his wife, Eloise, of Havana; daughter, Angela (Rusty) Thomas of Bath; son, Rodney (Shellie) Richardson of Havana; four grandchildren, Travis, Tiffany, Brandon and Alyssa and two great-grandchildren, Lincoln and Hailey. Also surviving is one brother, Paul “Chuck” (Susan) Richardson, of Havana. He was preceded in death by his parents and twelve brothers and sisters: Helen, Martha, Harold, Lawrence, Russell, Stan, Jimmy, Frank, Calvin, Ralph, Dude and Tot. Mr. Richardson served in the US Navy from 1951 until 1955. He farmed in Fulton County, Illinois for over fifty years. Visitation will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana from 5 until 7 p.m. on Wednesday, September 6, 2017. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 2 p.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Rev. Ed Ingram will officiate. VFW Post #6408 and American Legion Post #138 in Havana will provide military rites at the cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hurricane Harvey relief.
