Daniel Glen Watson
Daniel Glen Watson, 73, of South Pekin, passed away at Farmington County Manor at 5:25 a.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017. He was born January 15, 1944, in Havana, to George and Edith (Haage) Watson. He married Martina Brush on December 11, 1975 in Lewistown, IL. She preceded him in death on February 16, 2014. Mr. Watson is survived by one son, Daniel Watson Jr. of Farmington, one daughter, Ginnie (Tim) Girard, of South Pekin, daughter-in-law, Rebecca Grzanich of Ellisville, six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Also surviving are two sisters, Carolyn Richter of Ipava and Pat Burgett of Canton. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, brother Dean Watson, six sisters: Barbara Jean Moore, Edith Gilbreath, June Martin, Vivian Kromer, Wanda Tibbs and Evelyn Rose, son, Chuck Grzanich and grandson Chad Grzanich. Mr. Watson was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin. He served in the US Army from 1967 until 1969, with a tour of duty in Viet Nam, and was a member of VFW Post #6408 in Havana. He worked for Crescent Forge & Shovel for 18 years. He especially enjoyed fishing, hunting and football. Funeral services will be held at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana at Noon on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Fiatt Cemetery.
