Jeffrey Willis

Jeffrey Earnest Willis, 58, of Lewistown, passed away peacefully at his home on April 30, 2016. Jeffrey was born November 10, 1958 in Springfield, IL the son of Everett and Josephine (Goodin) Willis.  He married Karen Elizabeth Zeiger on June 22, 2007, she survives.  
Jeffrey is also survived by his mother, two brothers; Mike (Shirley) Willis of Petersburg, and Jackie (Sheila) Willis of Tallula, his children; Matthew (Jennie) Willis of Athens,  and daughter Jessica Lee Ann Willis of Riverton, step children: Aaron Zeiger of Lewiston, Beth (Phil) Willson of Mason City, and Jennifer Matthew of Eatonville, W; 7 grandchildren,  Lillie and Hunter Willis, Christopher and Shaylynn Bennett, Kaylee James, Logan and Brooke Willson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Jeffrey was preceded in death by his father, sister Paula, and step daughter Stacey Zeiger.
Jeff served proudly served our country in the U.S. Army, retiring after 20 years.  Later he worked at Garrett Aviation and Excel of Beardstown.  He was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 5001.
He enjoyed fishing, daily drives in his pick-up, and his dogs.  His dog Artie never left his side.
Cremation rites were accorded by Hurley Funeral Home of Petersburg.  A memorial service officiated by Pastor Shawn Schaeffer will be held at11 am on May 4, 2016 at Hurley Funeral Home in Petersburg.  The family will receive guests from 10 am until the time of the memorial service.  Military honors will be performed by the Menard County Inter Veterans Ceremony Unit.
