Lois Bernadine Waterworth

Lois Bernadine Waterworth, 90, of Easton passed away Monday, April 18, 2016 at the Mason City Area Nursing Home.
Lois was born June 25, 1925, in Pekin, Illinois, the daughter of Earl and Leona (Garlisch) Greathouse.  After graduating from Pekin High School in 1943 Lois worked at the Caterpillar Tractor Company supporting the World War II war effort while waiting for boyfriend and husband to be, Marine Corporal James Waterworth to return from combat in the South Pacific.  They were married on June 19, 1945 and farmed in the Easton area until retirement.
James preceded her in death on August 13, 2004, she was also preceded in death by her sister Virginia Preston, and her daughter-in-law Barbara Waterworth.  Lois was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Easton where she taught Sunday school for many years. 
Lois is survived by her daughter Nancy (Leonard) Stephens of Grundy Center, Iowa and her son Steve Waterworth of Havana, Illinois, six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren. 
In accordance with Lois’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded by Hurley Funeral Home Mason City.  A private service will be held at a later date. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Easton or to Mason City Area Nursing Home.
