Delores Worner

Delores J. Worner, 83, of Delavan, passed away at 1:03 p.m. Tuesday November 24, 2015 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal, IL.  She was born March 13, 1932 in Havana, the daughter of Ralph and Alma (Osing) Vanderveen.  She married Meredith Worner January 28, 1956 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Havana. 
Delores is survived by her husband Meredith, three daughters; Marty (Larry) Herlong of Charlotte, NC, Mura (Don) Haupt of Dunlap, IL and Julie (Mike) Smith of Atlanta, GA; one son Steve (Lori) Worner of Manito; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren; one sister Mary Behrends of Havana, and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother Don Vanderveen.
Delores was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria.  She enjoyed cooking and gardening, and was very devoted to her family.  Delores was a graduate of Memorial School of Nursing in Springfield.  She was an RN at Springfield Memorial Hospital, Mason District Hospital, and Pekin Hospital. She was also Chairman of the Farm Bureau Marketing Committee.
Visitation was held Friday, November 27, 2015 from 4 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Maas-Hurley Funeral Home in Manito.  Funeral services was held Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Peoria, with a visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of service.  Pastor John Hopwood and Pastor Ritch Boerckel officiated.  Graveside service was held at 3 p.m. at Meadowlawn Cemetery in Manito.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Grace Presbyterian Church of Peoria, Southside Mission, or to the Peoria Rescue Mission.  Online condolences may be left for the family at
Maas-Hurley Funeral Home in Manito are handling the services.
